Come in at any stage. Most customers arrive in the middle, with a drawing to price, or something on site that has to change, and that is entirely normal. The point is that the stages either side are available from the same business when you need them.
How customers engage us
Three ways in
Most enquiries arrive as one of three things: a problem that has not been solved yet, a drawing that needs making, or something on site that has to be dealt with in place. They are handled differently, so it is worth saying which one you have.
All three run through the same works and the same engineers. A problem worked out in the first can be manufactured in the second without the drawing changing hands.
Design, fabrication, welding and machining happen under one roof and
under one set of hands. Nothing is sub-let to a third party without you being told,
and nobody quotes a job they have not read.
The principal business is the design and fabrication of products made to
customer specification, in mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium and steel-and-glass
assemblies. The CNC machine shop supports that fabrication work and is also available
as a standalone service.
Where a job needs profiling capacity beyond our own, it is cut within the group by
our sister company rather than bought on the open market, which keeps the
schedule, the material certification and the responsibility in one place.
Rework on a fabricated assembly is rarely cheap. On a safety-related product it is not acceptable at all.
Wheelchair access ramps for public transport are quality-checked twice before despatch. That is not a service promise. It is the only economic way to build something a person stands on.
Most enquiries touch more than one process. Quoting them together removes double
handling, transport between suppliers, and the interface risk that appears whenever
a job is split across firms.

Enquiry and drawing review
Send a drawing, a sketch, a photograph or a description. We accept DXF, DWG, PDF, STEP and IGES. An engineer reads the enquiry, not a form-handler, and comes back with questions where the intent is ambiguous rather than quoting round a gap.
Quotation
A written quotation covering scope, material specification, finish, delivery route and lead time. Where a job would be better and cheaper made a different way, we say so at this stage rather than after the material is cut.
Design and preparation
Where the enquiry is a concept rather than a drawing, we develop it to manufacturing intent and agree it with you before any material is cut. Nesting, cutting lists and weld procedures are prepared from the approved information.
Manufacture
Profiling, forming, machining, welding and assembly. Work in progress is checked against the approved drawing at the points where an error would become expensive to unpick, not only at the end.
Inspection and finish
Dimensional check against the drawing, weld visual inspection, and finishing to the agreed specification. Independent testing, coating and galvanising are arranged through established supply-chain partners where a specification calls for them.
Delivery or installation
Packed and delivered to your works or site, or installed at your premises by our own team where the scope requires it.
The work that comes back to us is the work where being wrong is not an option.
